04/05/2003: I got the Job, start on Tuesday. hurrah. Aside from that, life sucks so much it's not funny. I also added my pics of the anti-war marches to the rambling section. 25/04/2003: I rang the employment agency that was trying to get me a job in HP on Wednesday, and I was told they wanted me to come out for an interview on Thursday or Friday, but they'd have to ring me back for a time. I didn't hear back from them so I assumed that I'd have my interview on Friday. I got a balck hair dye to cover the blonde streaks in my hair and everything. So the phone rings at 9:30 on Thursday Morning, they want me come up at 3:30 that afternoon. Cue panic, quick dying of hair, not being able to find any respectable trousers that were clean or an ironed shirt. So I decide to wear a nice pair of jeans. and then the power goes as we're about to iron a shirt, so I end up wearing a blue not very formal one, with a tie. Still, I must have done something right, because they wanted to know more about me afterwards. A good sign. 23/04/2003: Dinner In Laura's Mum's was also very nice, we watched a special on the guy who tried to cheat at "Who wants to be a millionaire". I'm amazed they even tried, there was no way anyone would have believed he could win a million. Also finally saw an episode of Black books, which was very amusing, if a little conventional. Nikita's on as I type this - I love that movie. 21/04/2003:Was at dinner in my parents' house last night. It was quite nice, with a metric ton of banter flying accross the table. Also finished downloading the Detective story episode of animatrix, which was very cool. Off to Laura's family tonight. 17/04/2003: I was up in my old job yesterday picking up my tax and redundancy forms. Felt strange. The place is a lot more empty. Everyone pretended to be happy to see me. Still waiting to hear back about a tech support job with HP. I'm going to sign on for the dole tomorrow. It's better than nothing. I realised later that tomorrow's Good Friday, and as such everywhere will be closed. 11/04/2003: I was up at the shops and was surprised to find our dog Ben stuck out in the hall when I got home. Turns out that he'd been let out the back to go to the toilet, and charged up to the back of the garden, where our cat Abby was. He chased her away from something and startied rearing up on his hind legs and jumping down on his frint legs. Abby had managed to catch a baby rabbit and bring it back to the garden, and that was what Ben was attacking. Laura chased him off, rescued the rabbit and had him in a basket in the kitchen. We made sure he hadn't been cut anywhere, and in a couple of hours he was hopping around in the basket so we let him go in the field accross the road from us. all this proves that Laura is one of the good guys. 10/04/03 I decided to resurrect the page as a blog-kinda thing.
